"Thank you so much for the high-quality kava! Thought I might share some of my personal experiences with the substance, as this is a new industry and as such any little bit of info might someday prove helpful.

"Since you actually run a kava bar, you're in a _unique position_ in which you can give the recipe as it's actually served in a business establishment. I have found astonishing success with the 3/4-cup to 1-cup kava : 2-cups water ratio. However, are you aware that most places that sell kava recommend about 1 tablespoon per cup of water?! This is only 1/8 or 1/16 the amount you recommend.

"I think what's happened is that most places that sell kava via mail order are timid about letting on that in kava bars and the Pacific, the ratio is a lot higher (they're probably afraid they'll lose customers because the bags of kava will dissipate more quickly). But now that the "secret" is out, it will be to the betterment of the industry as a whole.

"I have found success with the higher ratio. For one thing, the duration of the euphoric effects is much longer -- I've come close to an hour on JUST A COUPLE HALF-SHELLS. This would indicate that the same amount of kava will go a lot further in a more concentrated recipe than in the typical diluted recipe, the much-less-distinct effects of the latter wearing off after 5 or 10 short minutes and leaving most customers trying several subsequent unsuccessful attempts to achieve euphoria at such a light dosage. (In fact, this "Kava Frustration" is probably the chief problem facing your industry at this time, especially among brand new users.)

"For customers concerned about the kava bags going faster, it can also be pointed out that, unlike in a nakamal (where fresh kava is demanded for each pressing from a business standpoint), a home user is free to make a second or even a third pressing of the quid and have a nice, slightly smaller but relaxing dose, or a starter for the next main dose.

"To summarize, I hate to analogize to alcohol, which I agree should never be taken to excess. But in a perfect world where alcohol consumption had only positive effects, imagine this scenario: two control groups, one trying to feel effects by consuming small glasses of lite beer, the other trying to feel effects by consuming the same small glasses of pure vodka. Needless to say, the latter will have more success. That's why it's important for the kava industry to realize that 1) many of the effects demand higher doses, but 2) the strength and duration of the effects can mean one will actually consume about the same amount as before."

"I don't usually write "testimonials" , but WOW!! My order of Chiefs Jungle Kava arrived today and I had to have a batch.....even if it's not the weekend.
Whatever I was drinking before........I don't know what it was, but it was crap compared to this stuff.

It's not only very effective, but I thought it tasted good!?!? Maybe I went too light on the mix. I used 2 Tbs of Kava, 1/2 tsp Lecithin, and 16 ozs of water. Got the nice mouth tingle, and the buzz.....and I thought it tasted good! Ok, not like something I would drink just for the taste, but way better than any other Kava I've had.

July 03, 2008- When I first came to this site I was skeptical to the legitimacy of it (as I am to most online sites) but after ordering and seeing the product all of my fears have been dissipated. I ordered on a Thursday and my order was here Monday, which is unbelievably fast. It came exactly as described. It also produced the effects exactly as described. So, all in all I would definitely recommend you and your products to anyone. Also, I have a couple of mixing suggestions for the powder. First off, chocolate milk worked really well to mix it with. Same concept as the hot cocoa I'm guessing. The thickness of the milk seems to just snuff out the taste. Also, you were right about clear sodas working, but I found personally that ginger ale worked the best. Even though ginger ale is a clear soda it kinda has that darker tint to it, and the kava slight compliments the taste. Thank you once again, and you will definitely be seeing more purchases from me.

February 20, 2009-   I just recieved my first bag of Kava powder from you guys today. I was so happy! This is the first time I have actually drank Kava. I took the pill form, but they weren't so hot. I'm excited to try my batch of Niugini Kava. I just finished drinking the Fire Island Instant sample that you gave me, and I like it.
