Black Sand kava is the name we have given to the finest daily drinking kava that the Republic of Vanuatu has to offer. We buy only the most popular type of drinking kava which is Borogu. This kava is approximately 75% chips and 25% lateral root which is very close to the ratio at which the plant comes out of the ground at harvest.

For example, there are more varieties of kava in PNG than anywhere else save Vanuatu. One thing is for certain, the strongest kava in the world that is able to be imported into the United States comes from PNG. Chief's Jungle kava is amongst the strongest kava that we have ever found and been able to import. This kava from the Madang area of PNG. We do our best to import 5 yr old + roots specifically from the variety the natives call Madang Short or Waeld Koniak (wild cognac). This kava has a brownish/reddish hue to it in whole root form. The aroma is of ginger and pine. The taste is very pungent and the effects are out of this world. This is not the best choice for inexperienced kava drinkers but that doesn't seem to stop them from ordering it.

TASTE- Pine. Ginger. Pungent. Not the easiest kava to drink.

Niugini Kava

Our Niugini kava is really potent but not strong enough that you can't drink it every day. This kava comes from all over PNG. Our supplier sends Land Cruisers deep into the jungles to places that the civilized world would never see kava from if it was not for them doing it. This kava is called Isa kava by the natives. It also has a very pungent smell and taste that is very similar to Chief's Jungle kava. This kava is great for kava parties.

Solomon Kava straight from the Solomon Islands.

Only the finest Solomon Islands kava that is a minimum of 5 years old is used in this special blend consisting of 40% crown root and 60% lateral root. This kava kava is considered to be the strongest kava in the Solomon Islands and is good for everyday drinking. This mixture is strong enough to provide relaxing effects but not too strong for weekday consumption. This variety of kava is nambawan (#1) in the Solomons.

This kava powder has a very peppery and slightly woody smell to it as well as a peppery taste. The color of this kava powder is very light and it produces a beverage that is light in color as well. KAVA PREPARATION CLOTH

A kava preparation cloth is neccesary to make kava properly. Many people use other things to strain kava juice but our nylon kava preparation cloths are by far the best option available. We recommend using 2 cloths at time to increase the strength of the cloth so it does not tear when you are wringing out the kava.

LECITHIN GRANULES

Soy lecithin granules really help to help you feel the effects of the kava. It is not totally neccesary to use these granules if you do not want to but we are sure that using them makes the kava more potent. The oily properties of the lecithin granules activates the kavalactones (active ingredients) and makes them more readily available to your body. They also emulsify the kava juice so that it is smoother and homogenous.
